What materials are best for high-pressure tubes?
Stainless steel 316 is the standard choice for high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic tubes — excellent corrosion resistance and tensile strength (517 MPa). Stainless steel 304 is a cost-effective alternative for less-demanding applications. Aluminium 7075-T6 is ideal for lightweight high-pressure applications (572 MPa tensile). Inconel is used for extreme-pressure and high-temperature applications. Steel 4140 is suitable for industrial pressure vessels. Specify your pressure rating and we will recommend the best material.
What tolerances can you hold on tube wall thickness?
Standard CNC boring achieves ±0.05mm on wall thickness. Precision boring with CMM verification can hold ±0.01mm. Ultra-precision tubes for critical applications can achieve ±0.005mm or better. Wall thickness uniformity is critical for pressure vessels — we recommend CMM verification for all pressure-rated tubes.
What is the typical lead time for custom tubes?

Can you manufacture tubes with custom end fittings?
Yes. We regularly machine tubes with custom end fittings including threaded fittings (SAE, ISO, custom threads), flanged fittings, orbital-welded fittings, and quick-connect ports. End machining is performed in single setup with the tube body — no secondary assembly required. Complex multi-port tubes are standard capability.
Do you offer pressure testing for tubes?
Yes. Pressure testing and hydrostatic testing is available on all machined tubes. We test to your specified pressure rating and provide test certificates. Typical test pressures range from 10 bar (pneumatic) to 350 bar (high-pressure hydraulic) — higher pressures available on request. Test certificates are provided as part of our quality documentation.
