It is the material of choice for chemical reactor components, extreme environment processing equipment, and applications where other alloys fail.
What are the advantages of Hastelloy over stainless steel?
Hastelloy superior chemical resistance to stainless steel — it resists boiling acids and extremely aggressive chemical combinations that quickly pit stainless steel. Hastelloy is more expensive but is necessary in extreme chemical processing where stainless would fail. It eliminates corrosion failures, extends equipment life, and is cost-effective for mission-critical applications.
What tolerances can you hold on Hastelloy parts?
Hastelloy is challenging to machine due to its hardness and work-hardening characteristics. Standard CNC machining achieves ±0.05mm on general features.
