What materials are best for saltwater propellers?
Bronze is the traditional choice for saltwater propellers — excellent corrosion resistance and seawater performance. Nickel-aluminium bronze offers higher strength while maintaining corrosion resistance. Stainless steel 316 is also suitable for saltwater. Aluminium propellers can be used with sacrificial zinc anodes.
Can you manufacture propellers with custom pitch?
Yes. Custom pitch propellers are engineered to your specific RPM and thrust requirements. Pitch is determined by blade angle and geometry. We work with you to optimise pitch for your vessel or application performance.
What is the typical lead time for custom propellers?
Single-off custom propellers are typically completed within 3–5 weeks from quote approval, depending on complexity. Production runs of 5+ units are usually completed within 4–6 weeks. Express lead times available for rush orders.
Can you balance propellers for vibration reduction?
Yes. Dynamic balancing is available as a standard service. Propellers are balanced to ISO 1940 Grade G6.3 or better, reducing vibration for smooth high-speed operation. Balancing includes test run verification.
