Nozzle FAQ

What nozzle types can you manufacture?

We manufacture custom nozzles including spray nozzles, jet nozzles, atomising nozzles, mixing nozzles, extrusion nozzles, fuel injection nozzles, waterjet nozzles, and custom profile nozzles. All types are available in single-off and production quantities.

What materials are best for abrasive fluid nozzles?

Tungsten carbide is the best material for abrasive fluids — it offers extreme hardness and wear resistance. For less demanding abrasive applications, stainless steel 316 or 17-4 PH offers good balance of hardness and corrosion resistance. Ceramic inserts can be used for extreme wear applications.

What tolerances can you hold on nozzle orifices?

We can hold ±0.01mm tolerances on nozzle orifices for most applications. Ultra-precision work down to ±0.005mm is available with CMM verification. Tungsten carbide nozzles maintain tighter orifice tolerances than stainless steel due to superior material hardness.

What is the typical lead time for custom nozzles?

Single-off custom nozzles are typically completed within 2–3 weeks from quote approval. Production runs of 50+ units are usually completed within 3–4 weeks. Express lead times are available for rush orders. Request specific lead times in your quote.

Can you manufacture nozzles with specific spray patterns?

Yes. Spray pattern is determined by orifice design, and we can engineer custom orifice profiles to achieve specific spray patterns — fan spray, cone spray, or custom profiles. Spray testing can be performed to validate pattern before bulk manufacturing.

Do you offer surface hardening for wear resistance?

Yes. Surface hardening options include nitriding for steel nozzles, PVD coating for extended wear, and ceramic coatings for extreme environments. Hardening is quoted separately based on material and required surface hardness.
