Levers FAQ
What lever types can you manufacture?
We manufacture all lever types: control levers, brake levers, clutch levers, throttle levers, shift levers, adjustment levers, locking levers, and custom profile levers. Each lever is designed for smooth operation, precise geometry, and reliable long-term performance.
What materials are best for high-strength levers?
Steel 4140 is the standard choice for high-stress levers — excellent strength, toughness, and hardening capability. Aluminium 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 are used where weight is critical (automotive, aerospace). Stainless steel 316 is specified for corrosion environments. Titanium Grade 5 is used for premium lightweight applications. 17-4 PH stainless is preferred for aerospace critical applications.
Can you manufacture levers with custom pivot holes?
Yes. We design and machine custom pivot hole geometry — including sized dowel holes, press-fit pins, threaded holes, and bushing pockets. Pivot hole tolerances are held tight to ensure smooth operation and minimal play.
What is the typical lead time for custom levers?
Simple levers (basic geometry, single pivot) can be delivered in 5–7 business days. Moderate complexity (multi-pivot, custom profiles) typically take 7–10 business days. Complex levers (integrated features, hardened, ground) may take 10–15 business days.
Can you produce levers with threaded ends?
Yes. We machine threaded ends for connection to rod ends, ball joints, or other linkages. Any thread standard (metric, UNC, UNF, custom) is available. Thread tolerances are verified with gauges.
Do you offer surface hardening for wear points?
Yes. Case hardening, nitriding, and through-hardening are available for steel levers to improve wear resistance on pivot surfaces and contact areas. Hardness levels are customized to your application. All hardening is managed with stress relief to maintain dimensional stability.
