Compressor Parts FAQ

What compressor parts can you manufacture?

We manufacture compressor housings and cylinders, piston rods and pistons, valve plates and reeds, crankshafts and connecting rods, bearing housings, seal components, and custom compressor hardware. Our expertise covers reciprocating and rotary compressor components.

What materials are best for high-pressure compressors?

Steel 4140 offers excellent strength and machinability for high-pressure applications. Stainless steel 316 is used when corrosion resistance is needed. Aluminium 6061-T6 is suitable for lower-pressure applications and lightweight designs. Cast iron is used for piston and valve housings.

What tolerances can you hold on compressor cylinders?

Cylinder bore tolerances are held to ±0.05mm standard. High-precision boring achieves ±0.01mm. Honing and surface finishing can achieve Ra 0.4µm for optimal seal performance and long component life.

What is the typical lead time for compressor parts?

Simple components: 2–3 weeks. Medium complexity: 3–4 weeks. Complex assemblies: 4–6 weeks. We provide a detailed quote with lead time based on geometry, material, and quantity.

Can you manufacture parts for reciprocating and rotary compressors?

Yes. We have experience with both reciprocating compressor components (cylinders, pistons, crankshafts, valve plates) and rotary compressor parts (rotors, casings, shafts, bearings).

Do you offer surface treatments for wear resistance?

Yes. We offer nitride hardening, nitriding, hard anodising (for aluminium), and other surface treatments to improve wear resistance. These are quoted separately and managed through our treatment partners.
